Lama saya tidak menyapa segenap publik ambigram. :)
Kini saya kembali dengan sebuah karya baru. Kali ini berupa sebuah rotational ambigram yang diaplikasikan ke dalam sebuah brand (silakan putar kepala anda kalau tidak percaya..hehe).
Ambigram ini adalah pesanan seorang kawan untuk usaha barunya. Semoga sukses ya mbook..hoho

And.......Finally......i indtroduce my brand new logo.......:))

A little story about this logo:

First, I think that thiis is time to change. Time to something new. New challenges to be faced, new fellas, new experiences to be experienced, and new peak to be conquered. That's why i need new logo, to express the exciting feeling in something new.:)

Second, I want to be humble. My old logo used capital letter. I, personally, interpret it as my enthusiastic in Ambigram world as the new world for me. That's why i need a big power to explore this new world. Now, as time goes by, i know about ambigram more and more, and ambigram always impressed me. Now, i should be more humble as an artist. That's why i use small letter in my new logo. It symbolized that  my head should "down" and always have a desire to learn more and more from fellow ambigramist from all around the word. I shouldn't be arrogant with all the achievements i have achieved, but i should always remember that "over the skies, there are still the sky". In this world there are so many artists that have good skill in ambigram. I should always learn from them.;)

I saw the book's review in mid 2003. I didn't realized that its an ambigram (beiside, i didn't know abaout ambigram yet).
Then I saw this book again several days ago. I'm really suprized when i saw the ambigram! And know, this book is in my hand. I hope the story will be great as I expect. :)

NED 0 - 0 DEN (4-WAYS-AMBIGRAM)

Suatu kesempatan langka ketika kita dapat menemukan sebuah palindrome. Palindrome adalah sebuah sebuah kata, frasa, kalimat, atau bahkan susunan angka yang dapat dibaca dari arah yang berbeda. Jika normalnya kita membaca dari kiri ke kanan, maka sebuah palindrome dapat dibaca dari arah sebaliknya dan masih tetap bermakna sama (silakan cek di sini untuk info lebih lanjut). Konsepnya mirip dengan ambigram mirror yang dapat di baca dari depan ke belakang dan sebaliknya.

Pada even EURO 2012, ada sebuah palindrome (yang mungkin tidak banyak disadari) yang saya temukan. Pada saat pertandingan Belanda kontra Denmark (sebelum papan skor berubah menjadi 1 - 0 di menit 24 yang bertahan hingga akhir pertandingan), singkatan nama kedua negara tersebut pada papan skor membentuk susunan "NED 0 - 0 DEN". Sebuah kesempatan yang sangat jarang, mengingat pertandingan besar semacam EURO ini tidak diselenggarakan setiap tahun, dan terlebih lagi, jarang ada kesempatan kedua negara tersebut bertemu.

Untuk mengabadikan momen bersejarah ini, maka saya buat sebuah ambigram yang tidak hanya dapat dibaca dari kanan ke kiri dan kiri ke kanan (mirror), tetapi sekaligus dapat dibaca dari atas ke bawah dan bawah ke atas (rotational). Saya menamakan ambigram ini 4-WAYS-AMBIGRAM, ambigram yang dapat dibaca dari EMPAT arah sekaligus! Selamat menikmati. :)

ACAC 03 Chalenge

This is my first time joint this competition. I Submited two designs, I really hope one of them can make me win this challenge. :)

1. GOD/JESUS - symbiotogram

(GOD/JESUS) - Symbiotogram

From the first time i decide to make this ambigram, i think that G and U-S is a nice combination. I got the inspiration from my friend's ambigram "YOGI" which is have the similar form in the G-I and Y. (you can see it in this blog).

Second thing to think is the O and E-S combination. I thought that O will only nice to combined with S. Lately I found that J-E and D combination wasn't good enough and really hard to make it read as "D". So I decided to combine O with E and S, and I used this half-Omega symbol to make the combination look as natural as possible (also to say that GOD is the Alfa and the Omega).

Last, about J and D combination. Like I said, first i thought that I wanted to make J-E and D combination, but its didn't look natural enough. Luckily, I found this J and D combination in my way back home one night. I just thought that it was simple and can read easily.

This is my first design of GOD/JESUS symbiotogram. It made from a circle that i cut and paste together. I don't think this design readable enough, so I make another design (that finally become my final design).

2. HOLY SPIRIT - rotational

In this ambigram, from the beginning, I realized that S was the natural ambigram that can I made as the centre of this ambigram, so I made the exploration with the combination between H/I-T, R/O-L, and Y/P-I. I find that it was not easy enough to made this ambigram. I made a sketch over and over again before finding the right combination (I'm sorry i can't post the process here).

In the digitalizing procces, I reconstruct MCF Bad Manner font to became this ambigram. I choose blue as the color, simply because, I like it. :)

So, those are my designs I submit to joint ACAC challenge. Hope you enjoy my works. :)

TALKOLEUM

This is my first commercial project. I made it for my friend's new clothing company (TALKOLEUM, you can find it here).
I made the sketch, and he did the digital work. It's awesome!! I didn't think he will made it like that..hoho
Great job Dude!!:))

 1. When the first time I try to make a combination, I think that O and E combination will make it a nice ambigram with L as a centre of it (it will be a rotational ambigram).

2. In the beginning I find that it's hard to make a combination between "TALK" and "UM" 

 3. Until I realized that it could be possible to combine "TALK" and "UM".

4. And..walaa..the final sketch of TALKOKEUM

Thank's to Puput Wira Satya that make my ambigram look great.:) I hope TALKOLEUM will become bigger from day to days.
